pré et post -traitement

Success

a beautiful result of permanent make-up depends on many factors such as the quality of the skin, the condition of the skin and not only the pigmentation. You will be more satisfied if you prepare your skin correctly.

The eyebrow and lip area should beselder,

intact, unresponsive and non-irritable.

The result

Home care is a big part of successful treatment, so please follow the care advice given to you after your appointment very carefully. For hygienic reasons, the pigmented areas of the skin should not come into contact with excessive amounts of water, cosmetics or sweat (no sports) for at least one week after the treatment, and should not not be exposed to direct sunlight.

If you live in a sunny place, wear a hat, cap or large sunglasses (for eyebrows)

to protect the pigmented area from direct sunlight.

Please observe the following points so that the treatment can be carried out optimally and you can have a positive influence on the outcome of the treatment

Before treatment

  • Avoid taking blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, heparin, marcumar, etc. 72 hours before treatment.

  • Avoid dietary supplements such as vitamin B, vitamin E and fish oil 72 hours before treatment.

  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours before treatment.

  • Avoid nicotine and caffeinated beverages the day before treatment.

  • 4 weeks before treatment, no Botox or hyaluronic acid

  • No eyebrow waxing, coloring or threading a week before (the more natural hair you have, the better!).

  • Avoid excessive sunbathing beforehand

  • Avoid chemical peels, dermabrasions, mesotherapy or any other intense treatment 3 to 4 weeks before the procedure.

In addition, in case of lip pigmentation:

It is not possible to work on damaged, chapped or dehydrated lips. Apply a lip peel 3-5 days before the treatment and moisturize your lips as often as possible (ex. coconut oil, Aloe vera ).
To avoid a herpes outbreak, please follow herpes prophylaxis (see below).

                                                  HERPES PROPHYLAXIS - IMPORTANT

to be considered only in case of lip pigmentation

If you have cold sores, you can still get permanent lip makeup, but there are a few things you should be careful of:
If you have cold sores (even if it was 20 years ago!), you MUST take antiviral medications to prevent a possible outbreak or to reduce the severity of a rash if it does occur. If a herpes outbreak occurs, it may cause the tattoo to change, which may require several touch-ups.

Herpes simplex virus is an insidious skin disease.  Permanent lip makeup can be a trigger for herpes simplex virus. The probability of an eruption is very high,

Please therefore take precautions and adhere to the following herpes prophylaxis:

PLEASE CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR (prescription required!) Take aciclovir tablets like Valtrex or Zelitrex

– 3 days before treatment –  and 3 days after treatment.

  Normal dose: 5 servings/day at 200mg (1000mg/day)

Increased dose (for sensitive clients): 5 servings/day, but dosage at 1600mg - max 2000mg/day

How you take care of your permanent makeup at home will largely determine the success of the treatment, and its longevity. This is why I ask you to conscientiously respect the care advice given to you after your appointment.

During the first days after permanent make-up, the following symptoms may appear:

tenderness, swelling, redness and itching (mild), which is part of the normal healing process.

The next day the color of the tattoo darkens as scabs begin to form.

The scabs will fall off within 6 to 12 days, depending on your skin and the treatment you have had.

How should I take care of my permanent makeup?

EYEBROWS

DAY 1 - TREATMENT DAY

Wash your hands thoroughly and do not directly touch the treated area with your fingers
wipe the eyebrows every 30 to 60 minutes with a little water on a cotton ball (damp, not wet!)
Dab them again to dry them repeat this process regularly

and just before going to sleep

apply a very thin layer of the recommended or supplied ointment using a cotton swab,
taking care not to exert too much pressure.

DAY 2-14

For the first few days, wipe the pigmented area with a damp cotton ball (never rub), then dab it dry
Apply a thin layer of the pomade (always with a cotton swab) on the eyebrows twice a day.
If your skin is naturally oily, just apply the ointment once a day in a very thin layer on the previously cleansed eyebrows.

"Your brows should never be greasy or shiny, otherwise you have used too much pomade

This would make the scabs soggy and easier to fall off prematurely. Remember that you want the scabs to stay in place for as long as possible, let them fall off naturally.

Do not let water, lotions, soap or makeup get on your permanent makeup while healing

.

THE LIPS

DAY 1 - TREATMENT DAY

Immediately after the treatment, the lip is still a little swollen and may be a little tight. The swelling usually disappears after 1 to 2 days at the latest.

You can apply ice cube on the skin. Wrap a bag or pouch of ice cubes in a clean towel and lay it over the area for as long as you want.

Wipe lips every 30-60 minutes or whenever dry and tight with a damp cotton ball, then pat dry and apply ointment to promote healing

as an example CICAPLAST (from La Roche-Posay)

DAY 2 to 14

Clean (dab with a damp cotton) and apply the lip care as needed with light pressure, avoid rubbing

Hydrate your lips as often as you want!

Do not touch your lips with fingers (use a cotton swab)

Do not scratch, rub or remove small crusts. Let the scabs fall off naturally.

Scratching can lead to loss of pigmentation, scarring or infection.

Additional touch-ups may be required.

If possible, avoid smoking for 72 hours. Tobacco has an influence on the color! The tar settles on the lips and colors them. Lip pigmentation creates small pitting on the surface of the skin. The smoke gets into these areas and can discolor the pigmentation - or worse - cause an infection!

Avoid all consumption of acidic, spicy or bitter foods (risk of tingling)

Use a straw for drinks

Avoid while permanent makeup is healing

  • pool/sea

  • Sport (extreme sweating)

  • sauna, steam room

  • direct sun

  • Use of decorative or care cosmetics on pigmented areas (e.g. cleansing milk, toner, day/night cream, lipstick)

  • Constant contact with pigmentation (for example, through frequent touching or contact with pets)

  • creams containing Retin-A or Glyconic Acid, light therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion  (should be avoided during healing)

  •   Do not sleep on your face to avoid lifting your scabs prematurely and be sure to sleep on a clean pillowcase to avoid infection.

after the phase of small crusts

  • Once the scabs have completely fallen off, you can apply makeup to the area and resume your normal activities.

  • Your skin is now in the regeneration phase. The whole healing process takes at least 28 days - 42 days (lips). After 4 to 6 weeks, the real and definitive color of the permanent makeup will appear. It is only after 4 to 6 weeks that a touch-up can be carried out.

  • Please note that your permanent makeup will be softer and less sharp once cured

  • Pigments can lighten up to 50% during healing

  • Note that results vary from person to person and are highly dependent on your skin and how you care for it while it heals. It may take more than one session to achieve the desired result.

After complete healing, protect the pigmented area against UV rays with a sunscreen (SPF 50). The color intensity of the pigmentation is thus preserved longer.
